As an art major, I spent 4 years studying Studio Visual Arts & Graphic Design, working to find a career worth careering amongst all of the creativity. Although I loved it, nobody was speaking my language yet. Once I pivoted to cosmetology school, I knew I was onto something.
Beauty school showed me how I could bring everything I loved about art & personal connection into a fulfilling career. Years and years of attracting the people and clients that appreciated my style and then came the rise of social media and digital branding.
Circle back to everything I learned in my design and graphic communication studies, that's when it all came together for us.

Fast Forward to Now
I've been doing hair for about 17 years. I own a salon with a friend and respected colleague, Malerie Nielsen. We opened Rio Rose Hair Studio in Sacramento, CA on September 1st, 2021.
In addition to doing hair and researching clean beauty, I focus on web design, elevating digital energy and brand consulting for small businesses and creative entrepreneurs. I want independent stylists and beyond to feel empowered and able to run a very successful business on the interwebs.
I continue to develop web design and social media strategies for my fellow stylists and companies like The Left Brain Group where I manage the website needs and create content for upcoming events.
I am drawn to well-being, organization, and essentialism which translates directly into the way I do hair and lifestyle I choose to live.

I have a gluten intolerance so I can be annoying to eat out with.
I'm all of my friends' number 1 fan.
I have a Chocolate Lab named Stevie Ray Wonder & a Jack Russel/ Chihuahua named Dexter.
I'm drawn to simplicity and essentialism in all forms.
